Description
Mystery studio pottery tankard or large mug made of scratched brushed red stoneware with black/brown tenmoku part glazed top and handle. The body is very heavy as with the walls of the pot are very thickly thrown, more so at the base of pot and cruedly made. Possibly made at the hands of a student or hobby potter.
The base is incised with a box and initials what reads (JI) or Z? Looks like an early 20th century piece and might not be British, French/USA maybe.
