Description
Lovely studio pottery chun glazed bowl by potter named Martin (Surname Unknown). from the Hartland Pottery, following on and continuing Clive's tradition using shun glazes in a mix of blue, cream, brown and white glazes on a fine quality hand thrown stoneware body, very scarce piece. Ideal for the collectors of North Devon studio ceramics.
Originally the Hartland Pottery was owned by Clive Pearson and he also owned Clovelly Pottery Company. He had people producing his pottery from many years. Including Potter Sarah Lander who worked there from 1993 until 2003. Martin took over from about 2004 until it closed about 2007. There's not a lot known about Martin, his pots are hard to come across due short time he owned and ran the pottery.
Materials: Clay, Stoneware, Shun Glazes.
Uses: Functional, Kitchen Tableware, Decorative Ornaments.
Country; Great Britain, Handmade In North Devon.
Signed: Stamped Martin, 2006 plus Tree/Bush Stamp Seal Mark On Base.
Date Made: 2006.
Condition; Excellent/Like New, Some Natural Crazing.
